Fresh fish from Japan to the world's dining tables
At the Mie Fisheries Cooperative, we are engaged in processing fresh fish from various regions of Japan, including Mie, Kagoshima, and Kyushu, at the Mie Fisheries Cooperative Live Fish Distribution Center located in Kanagawa, and shipping them domestically within Japan and exporting them to the world. The Mie Fisheries Cooperative is working to establish a system for direct sales to consumers living overseas in order to deliver fresh fish to the world's dining tables at more reasonable prices. We hope you will take advantage of this to enrich your daily meals with Japanese fish and cooperate in spreading this to other consumers.

Three new initiatives to achieve direct delivery from the production area / providing fresh and inexpensive seafood
1. Direct sales from Mie Fisheries Cooperative to consumers
The Japanese fresh fish sold overseas is expensive and not something that can be eaten regularly. We are working on creating a system that utilizes E-commerce to deliver directly from producers, aiming to provide it at a low cost. Additionally, we hope to connect this to the establishment of a sustainable production base by directly returning profits to producers.
It is not just about "cheapness," but about being able to enjoy fish that producers have carefully raised, caught, and strictly managed for quality, at a fair price with peace of mind. This is the new distribution system we are building.
For consumers, the strength of direct delivery is not only in terms of price but also in providing a sense of security where "the face of the producer can be seen." You can enjoy fish imbued with the producers' dedication and thoughts, in the best condition in terms of freshness and quality, and at an affordable price.
2. Utilization of freezing technology that can maintain a higher freshness than refrigeration.
The association (Mie Fisheries Association) has established a consistent freshness management system from catch to shipment. Fish from various regions in western Japan are transported to the sea pen in Miura using live fish boats and live fish trucks, and are kept alive until just before shipment. After landing, they are quickly processed and vacuum-packed in a low-temperature facility compliant with HACCP, and delivered to Singapore via the shortest route after quality inspection. The K value is used as an indicator of freshness, which indicates the rate at which ATP (a precursor to umami components) inside the fish body decomposes over time. Generally, a K value exceeding 20 is considered a state that requires cooking. In our association, by utilizing advanced freezing technology, it has been confirmed that the increase in K value after 7 days is extremely low compared to chilled products, allowing for the maintenance of freshness. It has been demonstrated that consistent temperature management through freezing maintains higher freshness throughout the entire logistics period compared to fresh fish transported by air. In this way, by combining immediate processing and high-precision freezing technology, our products can be enjoyed in Singapore in a state that is not inferior to fresh fish imported by air, but rather in a fresher condition.
3. Reduction of transportation costs through the use of containers
Another initiative is the effort to transform logistics methods. Fresh fish had previously been transported and stored in small lots by air freight, resulting in high transportation costs. This time, the Mie Fisheries Cooperative will utilize the aforementioned freezing technology to enable longer storage, aiming to achieve transportation in large lots using refrigerated containers, significantly reducing logistics costs. Through the transformation of the logistics system, we are working to deliver high-quality fish to your dining table at a low price.

Product offerings combined with a pre-order system
The Mie Fisheries Cooperative is working to deliver fresh fish directly to your table at a low price by transporting large lots after receiving orders. We have now started pre-orders for sets of yellowtail and sea bream for local sales in November, so we hope you will place your orders.
